Netherlands-based Arcadis has secured a €20m contract from Qatar Rail Company to provide architectural, branding, design and construction consultancy services for the Gold Line metro line in Doha.

The Dutch engineering and consultancy firm is already providing similar services for Doha Metro’s Red Line South.

For the Gold Line project, Arcadis will work on behalf of the contractor, ALYSJ, a joint venture of Aktor, Larsen & Toubro, Yapi Merkezi, STFA Group and Al Jaber Engineering.

The Gold Line is one of four lines being developed in the first phase of Doha’s 354km metro network and is claimed to be the largest single construction package on Doha Metro, crossing the city from east to west.

The project will also include construction of service buildings, tunnels and entrances, in addition to landscaping, traffic and utility works.
