Cargo Train Services Start Between North and South Korea

11 December 2007 14:26

A regular cargo train service has begun operating between North and South Korea – the first such service to cross the border in more than 50 years.

Every weekday the cargo train will carry raw materials and finished goods between industrial zones in South Korea and Bongdong, 25km away in North Korea.

The service was agreed upon during a meeting of the two countries' leaders in October.

South Korea is also pushing for a regular passenger service.
