Eurostar Opens Ebbsfleet International19 November 2007 17:32 Eurostar opened its new £100m Ebbsfleet International station in Kent today, making high-speed rail travel available to an additional ten million people in southern England. Chief executive of Eurostar Richard Brown says the station offers a real challenge to airlines. "Leisure travellers can avoid congested airports, long check-in queues and baggage reclaim delays," he says. Ebbsfleet is Eurostar's second station to use High Speed 1, the UK's first high-speed line. Eurostar will travel to Paris from the UK seven times a day in just over two hours.
