Network Rail Looks For Partner to Revamp Stations

16 October 2007 14:57

UK rail operator Network Rail is searching for a new development partner to help it revamp stations across London and the south east of England.

Network Rail wants the joint venture partner to combine property and rail expertise in developing eight stations.

The company says the development could prove a catalyst for economic growth in addition to providing an additional revenue stream for future investment.

The deal "will support sustainable development. It will also create an additional revenue stream for future investment into the railways which does not place additional burdens on the fare or the taxpayer," says director of commercial property Nick Martin.

Sites initially earmarked for development are:

  • Twickenham
  • Guildford
  • Wembley Cutting
  • Walthomstow Central
  • Enfield Town Station
  • Epsom
  • Maidstone East
  • Paddington Enterprise House

Network Rail has already signed development agreements for several London stations, including Euston and Victoria.
