Saudi Arabia's long awaited rail project set to transport commuters and freight will receive proposals from companies in November.

The project includes construction of a 950km railway linking Jeddah to the existing Dammam-Riyadh railway, a new 115km line from Dammam to Jubail, as well as numerous projects to upgrade Saudi's existing rail network.

The four consortia currently qualified for the proposals are: Agility Logistics Consortium, AlMuhaidib/ACWA Consortium, Mada Consortium and Saudi Binladin Consortium, according to Arabic news service Gulf News.
