UK Rail Franchise Orders New Trains17 August 2007 15:45 A new UK rail route will run trains worth over £163m from the capital London to the country's second-largest city Birmingham. Rail operator Govia, who was recently awarded the West Midlands rail franchise has ordered 37 Desiro electric multiple unit trains from German transportation manufacturer Siemens.
