Kirloskar to Supply India with RoadRailer Trains

18 March 2011

Kirloskar Pneumatic has signed an agreement with Northern Railway of India for the haulage of RoadRailer trains, including a pilot project between Delhi and Chennai.

The agreement is an extension of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the company with Indian Railways in January 2008.

RoadRailer is a bimodal transport system, which can carries white goods from one destination to another by road and rail using the same vehicle.

Indian-based Kirloskar has already obtained and developed the necessary technology from an US company for the manufacturing of RoadRailer and plans to manufacture the trains in Nasik, India.
