Mechan

Mechan is aiming to expand its presence in the Middle East with its first solo appearance at the region’s largest rail conference.

The Sheffield-based manufacturer will be showcasing its range of heavy lifting and handling equipment at this year’s Middle East Rail exhibition in March.

Held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 8 and 9, the event will be an opportunity for Mechan to raise its profile among rail operators, government officials and contractors working across the Middle East and North Africa and reinforce links with local distributor, Arabian Rail Company (ARC).

Visitors to Mechan’s stand will have an opportunity to see a working version of its patented Megalink control system, which operates the firm’s flagship lifting jacks. Sales team, Lee Pitts and Adam Elliott, will also be co-presenting a seminar during the exhibition, entitled Innovative Lifting and Handling Equipment for Rail Workshops and Depots.

Lee Pitts, Mechan’s sales engineer, said: "We attended Middle East Rail last year with our local representatives, ARC and received such a positive response that we have committed to exhibiting independently. The conference has an excellent reputation and attracts industry decision makers from across the globe. We are confident that it will be the perfect opportunity for us to enhance our reputation in the area and further extend our reach across this key strategic territory."
