Ceccato Spa is a leading company in automatic washing systems, manufacturing a wide range of car, truck and train washing plants. Based in Vicenza, Italy, close to Venezia, Ceccato was founded in 1936 by Pietro Ceccato, producing ovens for bakeries. After a short period of time this original product line was replaced by the production of equipment for service stations and washing systems. TRAIN WASHING UNITS

Since 1964 Ceccato has been involved in building train-washing units. Our engineering team is available to provide project planning, machine design, mechanical and hydraulic patterns and all the documentation to make the most advanced washing systems according to the customer's requirement. Ceccato offers also maintenance and service to maintain the investment through the years.

Ceccato manufactures two ranges of units: drive-through units and roll-over units.

The correct configuration is designed according to following parameters:

• Type of rolling stock (shape, presence of pantograph, parts of the trains, etc.)
• Required throughput (max. number of vehicles per hour, total number of vehicles per day)
• Available space

DRIVE-THROUGH WASHING UNITS

The configuration of drive-through washing units for the cleaning of special vehicles and rolling stock (trains, trams, underground trains) is a result of a combination of the following washing groups:

• Brushes for the washing of the carriages/wagons low side and corner
• Side washing brushes
• Front / rear and/or intermediate ends washing brushes
• "Eaves" washing brushes
• Roof washing brushes
• Pre-wet
• Pre-wash chemical distribution arches
• Detergent distribution arches
• Drying aid distribution arches
• Rinsing arches
• High pressure arches with fix or rotating head and nozzles
• Drying system with four / six / eight fans

It is possible to install a standard type underchassis wash system for the drive-through (a row of nozzles with fixed or rotating heads) or a trolley type underchassis wash system that runs the whole length under the stationary wagon.

ROLL-OVER WASHING UNITS

The roll-over washing units are mobile washing plants, gantry side or one-side trolley type with open structure (in case the train pantograph can not be lowered) or close structure. Adaptable to the different dimensions of trains, they can be equipped with additional brushes to wash the wagons' lower sides with exclusion of the bogie section if required.

The gantries or trolleys are designed in accordance with the specification supplied by the customer. All types of plant configurations can be further equipped with a wide range of devices and accessories:

• Photocells to control the drive-through speed and to detect specific train zones
• Electro-mechanical control cabinet / Uniop device (diagnostic and parameters setting) / software and specific interface for the remote control via PC
• Separate control and storage room to accommodate the different water pumps, the water reclaim unit if installed, the water and detergent accumulation tanks, the splash guard cleaning products
• Accessories for the manual wash of specific vehicles zones
• Additional safety devices (alarm signal, video-control, entry and exit stop bars, traffic lights, further remote control panels installed alongside the washing bay)

WATER TREATMENT UNITS

A suitable water treatment plant is designed upon request for the specific task. The water reclaim system can be of the physical, chemical-physical or biological type, according to the water quality level required for discharge into the sewer, the percentage of water to be re-used for the washing process and the expected peak washing requirement per hour and per day.
