RailBAM - Wayside Monitoring and Data Integration Systems

Trackside Intelligence Pty Ltd (Track IQ™) designs, manufactures and installs a range of wayside monitoring and data integration systems for the rail industry, incorporating advanced acoustic and vibration analysis technology that capture and diagnose faults in wheel bearings and wheel surfaces of rail vehicles whilst the train is travelling at mainline speed.

Track IQ provides specialist solutions for predictive condition monitoring for rail operators – using advanced wayside sensors data is captured and imported into a trending database. Depending on client requirements, data is able to be viewed directly from the dedicated detector software or through the unique 'Wayside Monitoring System' – a dedicated software product developed and marketed by Track IQ that imports data from a variety of wayside detectors accessed by intuitive screen selection functions.

RAILBAM® - RAILWAY BEARING ACOUSTICS MONITOR

The RailBAM Railway Bearing Acoustics Monitor uses advanced acoustic technology to monitor axle bearing defects with real-time analysis and trending software built-in allowing for optimum rail network performance. RailBAM reduces operating costs and assists in the prevention of derailments.

WCM® – WHEEL CONDITION MONITOR

The WCM Wheel Condition Monitor analyses wheel condition, monitors structure loading, records all wheel events and subsequently identifies the vehicles doing the most damage to tracks enabling better track management. Installation of this detector requires no welding, drilling or bonding to the rail surface.

WMS® - WAYSIDE MONITORING SYSTEM

The WMS Wayside Monitoring System is a software application specifically designed for the rail industry. It is an open, scalable and modular system that readily interfaces with a range of related wayside and vehicle monitoring sensors, allowing for complete data integration and analysis.

RAILSQAD® - RAILWAY SQUEAL ACOUSTIC DETECTOR

The RailSQAD Railway Squeal Acoustic Detector is a wheel set noise measurement system that automatically records wheel squeal and flanging of individual axles into a trending database, for early detection and diagnose of faulty wagons.

SUPERSITES – COMPREHENSIVE MULTI-SENSOR MONITORING SYSTEM

Supersites is a comprehensive multi-sensor monitoring system comprising the RailBAM, WCM, vehicle / bogie geometry and tracking, and wheel profile detectors, with data integrated via the WMS software to provide a total trackside intelligence system.

WAYSIDE MONITORING SPECIALISTS

Track IQ incorporates the expertise of two wayside monitoring specialist companies into the one company, making it easier and more efficient for rail managers to achieve their monitoring requirements by dealing with one supplier.

Vipac Engineers & Scientists Ltd is the parent company from which Track IQ was formed. The rail products division of Vipac developed RailBAM and RailSQAD, and now owns the business formerly known as Teknis Electronics, which developed the Wheel Condition Monitor (WCM) and the Wayside Monitoring System (WMS).

Track IQ will continue to offer all these wayside monitoring products. Both Vipac and Teknis have been successfully delivering engineered solutions to the rail industry since the early 1970s and Track IQ now has the combined expertise of both, enabling the company to further improve and develop the product range to meet the requirements of today's intelligent rail system managers – wherever they may be in the world.
