MER MEC Announce Acquisition of ImageMap

Today MER MEC SpA announced a major development in the expansion of its railway infrastructure monitoring and maintenance planning business with the acquisition of ImageMap Inc. Vito Pertosa, President and Chief Executive Officer of MER MEC announced that ImageMap had been acquired and would become an operating subsidiary of the MER MEC Group.

Moreover, Mr Pertosa confirmed MER MEC recently acquired Innotech, an infrastructure monitoring company in Marseille, France, and has already entered into a technical and marketing partnership with the Italian company Tecnogamma SpA. The MER MEC Group has recently gained substantial, additional technical capability and worldwide market coverage for its railway infrastructure and rolling stock monitoring systems, vision systems, asset management, and signaling systems.

ImageMap will continue to be run as a separate entity based from its technical center in Columbia South Carolina USA and will now have access to MER MEC's extensive technical, sales and marketing resources worldwide. Mr Pertosa announced that Mr David Ford, based in Columbia SC USA, will be the acting President of ImageMap.

Mr Roger Tracy, who has been President of ImageMap for the past 12 years, will be joining the MER MEC Group as Senior Sales Consultant as well as serving on the Board of Directors of ImageMap together with Mr Luca Ebreo, MER MEC Sales & Marketing Director.

Allen & Overy's Milan Office has been responsible for advising on the acquisition, supported by Wyche, Burgess, Freeman & Parham as US counsel.
