MER MEC Participates in European Enterprise Experience Programme

Chosen for its distinctive features and representativeness in SME sector, MER MEC supported the initiative of the European Union's Enterprise Experience Programme for 2006/07 and hosted an officer of the General Directorate for Enterprise and Industry, who has been introduced to the company activities, processes and business activities.
MER MEC is the only company in Italy that has been chosen for the program. The compnay hosted the officer in the second half of November 2006.
The initiative, sponsored by the European Commission in collaboration with Eurochambers, aims at allowing the General Directorate's 350 administrators to closely observe the activity of European SMEs in order to enhance their knowledge of the activities carried out. Moreover, the program represents an optimal means to explain EU business politics to the entrepreneurial community.
The enterprise programme is split up in two phases: the first one, just started, will be concluded on Easter 2007 and foresees the attendance of the first 50 officers; the second one, that will start in April 2007 and will be completed at the end of 2009, will in turn be split up in three phases and foresees the attendance of another 300 officers in the SME of the EU. Therefore, the officer's presence in our company has been an excellent occasion to offer a precise and detailed knowledge of MER MEC activities to the EU.
This way of working has been appreciated and praised by officer, who has recognized MER MEC's commitment to the constant development of advanced technologies an added-value for other companies to emulate. On the other hand, the officer's particular attention to the topics of corporate social responsibility and quality found full correspondence in the development of a business ethical code, in force in MER MEC, and in the compliance with MER MEC certified quality procedures.
Moreover, for MER MEC the program has been an excellent occasion to have a direct comparison with the policy of other EU companies and with the community directives. Therefore, this is an activity of deep interest and valorisation that MER MEC is proud to have undertaken.
