RIDE QUALITY MEASUREMENTS

Ride quality is an important analysis for both vehicle safety and passengers' comfort. The study of interaction forces acting between wheels and rails, such as oscillatory motion affecting the vehicle or asymmetric wear pattern affecting the wheel tread profile, has been introduced to evaluate risk of derailment, level of comfort offered on-board and to ensure rolling stock achieves full service life potential. RAMSYS - RAILWAY ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Mer Mec's "Railway Asset Management SYStem - RAMSYS" is a highly modular software solution designed to support enhanced data analysis for optimised maintenance and renewal planning.

RAMSYS integrates the diagnostic and the planning phases, by effectively integrating the data collected by measurements with other relevant planning data (infrastructural, statistical, work history, traffic, economical, etc.). RAMSYS collects and processes all data relevant to the condition analysis and planning and presents a set of intervention scenarios. Then an optimised maintenance and renewal plan can be selected according to a set of traffic and budget constraints.
