ALSTOM, the world leader in technologies for high-speed rail travel, will attend the 5th Eurailspeed International Congress which will be held in Milan from November 7th - 9th 2005.

For the first time, visitors will be able to discover the new PENDOLINO train manufactured by ALSTOM for Trenitalia. ALSTOM has organized a road-show in co-operation with Trenitalia to take a mock-up of the new PENDOLINO to six squares in six Italian cities : Milan, Naples, Rome, Bari, Reggio Calabria and Turin. During the Eurailspeed event, the mock up will be exhibited at Duomo Square in Milan, the first city to host it.

Furthermore, ALSTOM will show the powercars for the TGV East which will connect Paris with Eastern France, Southwest Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland. They are the first powercars to be equipped with an asynchronous traction drive.

ALSTOM is a member of the Saturno Consortium and has been active in the implementation of the new ERTMS technologies in Italy on the Milan-Turin, the Florence-Rome and the Rome-Naples high-speed lines. At Eurailspeed, ALSTOM will highlight the Rome-Naples line, the first line equipped with ERTMS level 2 to become operational.
