Newbury Data - Ticket Printing, Encoding and Issuing Solutions

Newbury Data is Europe's leading manufacturer of thermal printing, encoding and issuing solutions. The company produces thermal-coated paper, plastic, magnetic stripe and contactless tickets (also known as RFID tickets, or smart tickets). These are credit-card sized and used for point-of-sale, after departure, or self-service kiosks.

The Newbury Data product range has been developed to provide an economical range of thermal printing, encoding and issuing solutions for paper tickets, plastic tickets, magnetic-stripe tickets and ITSO tickets, for access control, event management, mass transit, local authority transport, event management, airlines, tourism, leisure and gaming applications.

Newbury Data thermal ticket printers are ideal for any desktop or mobile-vending application, and can be easily integrated into almost any third-party self-service kiosk. Newbury Data also offer specialised Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) ticket vending machine configurations to meet customer requirements.

MAGNETIC ENCODING TICKET PRINTERS

The Newbury Data ND4000 range of designed and manufactured thermal ticket printers are capable of storing, printing, magnetically encoding and reading credit card sized tickets. The printers use direct thermal media – which gives a high quality print – and are magnetically compatible to ISO 7811-2 Track 2 standard.

The ticket format is either portrait or landscape. Each character position is individually addressable, enabling tickets to be re-printed with additional text and new magnetic encoding to be written on subsequent occasions.

This rugged range of printers is ideal for a self-service environment and can be easily integrated into almost any self-service kiosk. Newbury Data offers specialised configurations of this printer range to meet customer requirements.

CONTACTLESS SMART TICKET PRINTERS

Newbury Data, manufacturer of the ND4020 UK rail ticket printer, has recently launched the ND4030, the company's first entry into contactless smart ticket printing market. Newbury Data believes it is ideally placed to support system integrators to develop low-cost paper based contactless smart ticket printing applications to support any current or future requirements.

The ND4030 is targeting mass transit and event management, offering one ticket that combines transport and access to an event, such as travel and entry by rail or bus to football matches or the Olympics.

TICKET VENDING MACHINES

Newbury Data has over 2,500 ND4020 ticket printer issuers installed in kiosks across the UK. The company has developed its own B2B and B2C kiosk hardware solutions. Newbury Data's IP-rated B2B solutions include all required technology for Ticket On Demand (TOD) retail ticket sales systems, including cash handling and chip-and-pin, as well as printing, encoding and issuing thermal-coated paper or flexible plastic:

  • Magnetic stripe tickets
  • Contactless smart tickets

All kiosks can include standard options, such as ND4000 series printer issuers, a touch-screen terminal, a chip-and-pin terminal, smart card readers, a cash box, note acceptors, a keyboard and a mouse.

CREDIT CARD SIZE TICKETS

Newbury Data provides a wide range of plain-colour or pre-printed print-only or print-and-encode CCSTs.

Whilst there are many formats available for clients to choose from, only CCSTs allow end-users to benefit from a format common to every purse or wallet. No additional items are required to carry or hold your ticket, meaning that the CCST format is fast becoming the standard for single and multi-use tickets.
