Pocket PC with Trigger Grip
The robust CASIO IT-600 high-grade data terminal with integrated barcode scanner, WLAN and Bluetooth® interface, VGA display with touch panel as well as Windows® CE.NET 5.0, is now also available with a practical trigger grip with a scanner release button.
The engineers of Casio extended the functionality of the modern pocket PC, which has a rugged but gracefully designed housing, with features for use during long data-acquisition periods. Thus, a perfectly fitting grip can be screwed to the slim device, which allows using the MDE terminal in a particularly ergonomic way. The scanner is held in hand like a pistol grip, whereby the integrated barcode scanner can be operated via a release button in the grasp.
Efficient data collection in retail and logistics is based on the fast and error-free reading of barcodes from shelves and packages. The high-speed laser scanner module of the Casio IT-600, in combination with an improved decoding algorithms, reaches protruding barcode reading rates, even with damaged and faded barcodes. The adjustable scanning angle and the acoustic, optical and vibrating feedback of the scans taken substantially eases and accelerates the work during the data acquisition. The Casio IT-600 comes with IrDA and Bluetooth® interfaces, in order to transmit, for example, data wirelessly to a mobile label printer. Thus, labels with new prices can easily be printed, for example, making price changes at the Point-Of-Sale (POS) more flexible and easy.
The IT-600 can be used as a client PC in a wireless LAN network (IEEE-802.11b/g) with up to 54MBit/s data transmission rate. The data terminal has a 520MHz fast PXA270 processor and a sufficient memory for fastidious applications. Efficient software tools allow the economical development of new applications under Windows CE. 5.0. The 3.7in VGA display makes the input with the touch-pen clear and easy. Thus, IT-600 is suitable for the clear representation of large data sets and complex diagrams.
The background lighting of the transflective display supplies sharp contrast of all pictures in every lighting condition, even in bright sunlight. The exceptionally long working time of up to 20 hours from one battery load underlines the practical fitness of the robust PDA-type terminal. The lighter lithium-ion battery with 1.850mAh capacity and low energy consumption offers continuous use of the terminal in a WLAN-environment of about 10 hours. The actual working time doubles, if a battery with 3.700mAh is used. However, if it should happen that the terminal runs out of battery, the auto-recovery tool allows simple recovery of the data and programs from the battery-independent memory. The Casio IT-600 can stand drops from the height of 1.20m on concrete floors, has the industrial safety class IP54 and can be used in the temperature range between - 10°C and +50°C.
