Rail telecommunication networks, overhead contact lines and signalling systems

Sirti's services for the transport sector include both wireline and wireless telecommunication networks for railway lines, mass transit and underground lines, as well as overhead contact lines, signalling systems, general power and electrical equipment, and auxiliary equipment such as systems for sound information, video surveillance, and tunnel safety and security.

The Sirti CTC - centralized traffic control system

Sirti has designed and realized an innovative centralized traffic control (CTC) system for the command and control of railway or subway lines, based on expertise developed in its signalling systems' competence centre.

The Sirti CTC system is an advanced remote command / remote control system with features including train timetable management, interfacing with passenger information systems, and integrated diagnostic equipment and systems.

Thanks to the use of advanced technologies and design philosophies – such as widely used hardware and software platforms – of standard protocols approved by the main international organizations, and to the development of a simple and intuitive man-machine interface (MMI), the Sirti CTC guarantees high performance and high reliability. Moreover it can be easily expanded and customized by the user to suit the complexity of the routes it controls, and is simple to maintain.

The Sirti ACC - computer-based interlocking system

Sirti has designed and constructed all hardware and software components of the Sirti ACC system. This is a computer-based interlocking system for the safe management and control of railway traffic.

The Sirti ACC is an innovative system integrating the traffic supervision functions of rail lines and centres (no matter how complex) with the station local control, developed according to Cenelec standards. It is also able to perform system diagnostics and to provide the data for secondary traffic-management systems, such as passenger information system, traffic reports, etc.

The Sirti ACC provides very high performances and high reliability with reduced volumes, electrical power consumption and cost. Moreover, the control equipment is field electrically insulated up to 4,000VDC, and each board is directly powered by the main station voltage of 48VDC.

Assistance and support services

Sirti also supplies assistance and support services including maintenance and training of clients' personnel.

In addition to telecommunications, broadcast video and power transmission networks, technological systems, and railway signalling systems, Sirti develops solutions in the field of information technology, plant supervision and control, mobility and environmental control, and security and safety.

Maintenance and training of personnel

Sirti operates in the transport sector through its Transport Division, an articulated company organization aimed to develop and carry out technology solutions and system integration for the railway sector, and transport in general.

The Sirti Transport Division has three main sites located in Milan, Rome and Genoa and its operation crews are available throughout Italy.
