McML Systems, an ISO 9001:2000 link-up certified company, provides turnkey consulting services and railway signalling systems for both urban and main line rail transport providers around the world. Key services include railway signalling design, installation, testing, system integration and railway signalling consultancy.

McML Systems was founded by a group of technocrats with vast experience in railway signalling projects. The company has undertaken projects in Malaysia, the UK, Australia and Madagascar.

RAILWAY SIGNALLING RESOURCES

McML is the largest signalling resources holding company in India, with more than 550 staff. The company has about 250 signalling design engineers with 60 IRSE licences that include principles designers and checkers. Our field engineering team (for installation and testing) holds about 150 resources with principle testing and functional testing capability.

Our customer base includes Network Rail (formerly British Railways); Westinghouse UK and Australia; Jacobs; Thales; Corus Rail; First Engineering; Madarail; Delhi Metro; Alstom; Siemens; Innerspace System Malaysia; Ircon International; and Indian Railways.

Our signalling deign projects have included (for Westinghouse UK), delivering detailed designs and schemes development package of sub-surface lines on the London Underground, and delivering book-wiring designs for 20 out of 27 stations on the Jubilee line for Thales.

In addition, Network Rail have used us to deliver typical circuits following NR standards for designing the route cards, while in Australia we have undertaken the correlation package for Victorian Railways, delivering the interface diagrams for the Railcorp standards.

SIGNALLING SOFTWARE TOOLS

McML has developed three software tools: Drafting AID, for drawing signalling circuits; TOC to SC, a customised software solution for automatic generation of signalling circuits from interlocking data (a table of controls); and RCA 1, a software tool for analysing relay contacts in circuit diagrams and converting the same into wiring diagrams.

MAJOR PROJECTS COMPLETED

Major projects we have completed include design, part supply of signalling equipment, installation, testing and commissioning of power supply equipments, outdoor and indoor signalling equipments, installation of computer-based interlocking system, and trackside signalling equipment at Skudai, Gelang Patah, Tanjung Pelepas railway stations for Malaysia Railways.

We also designed, supplied, installed and commissioned nine level crossings, two with half-barriers, over 422km of single railway line in Madagascar using our Level Crossing Protection System-Automatic (LCPS-Auto). This was the first time this technology had been used in Madagascar.

Other projects include the installation and testing support of signalling equipment and related works for Delhi metro rail (rail corridors I, II and III), New Delhi, India, and the design and supply of signalling equipment, installation, testing and commissioning of route relay interlocking at MAZAGAON of Central Railway, Indian Railways (263 routes, 18 junctions).

Additionally, we designed, manufactured and part-supplied signalling equipment, installation, testing and commissioning of solid state interlocking (WESTRACE) at Mahalimarup station on the South Eastern Railway, Indian Railways.
