Lumination - Railway LED Signals

With a heritage dating back to 1993, Lumination has been at the forefront of the LED revolution. As a global leader in LED signaling, we strive to develop the industry's best signals through superior engineering and bold innovation. We combine lighting industry knowledge, semiconductor expertise and the global reach of GE to bring the world outstanding LED solutions.

  • Innovative: over 30 US patents issued or pending
  • Exceptional quality: all Lumination products undergo rigorous design and production validation using six-sigma methodology
  • Reputable: tens of thousands of signals are in active service on rail and transit systems in Europe, Australia, the US and Canada
  • Durable: a sealed polycarbonate shell and coated electronics protect against moisture and dust intrusion
  • Safe: engineered to industry safety standards
  • Highly visible: LED signals deliver improved visibility over incandescent lamps, particularly when flashing
  • Cost-effective: long-lasting LEDs dramatically reduce the need to dispatch crews to change bulbs
  • High performance: Lumination rail signals are compliant with CE directives, AREMA and Transport Canada specifications.

LEVEL CROSSING FLASHERS

Where road, rail and pedestrian traffic meet, you need uncompromising reliability. These signals offer superior signal visibility and brightness compared to filament bulbs and last up to ten years, making them virtually maintenance free for long periods of time.

The level crossing flashers are available in red, 8in (200mm) and 12in (300mm)* modules, with transparent housing, back light and optional side lights.

* The 12in module is compliant with Transport Canada specifications.

WAYSIDE COLORLIGHT

These single-color LED units can be used anywhere along freight and passenger lines, commuter rail and rapid transit lines.

Available in green, yellow, red and lunar white, in 8in (200mm) and 5.5in (140mm) formats. You can also choose from long-range (narrow beam) and mid-range (wide beam) optics.

92-SERIES COLORLIGHT

The 92-series colorlight has unique fuse blow-out technology, causing the signal to behave the same way as a burnt-out incandescent bulb if any components should fail. The 92-series is designed to work with microprocessor control systems that feature light-out detection functionality.

Other key features include:

  • Type-approved with the world's largest signal equipment manufacturers
  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 4
  • Clear, sloped shell reduces reflected light
  • Long-range 8in module is compliant with Transport Canada specifications

The 92-series colourlight is compliant with many AREMA manual parts including:

  • 17.3.1 - safety assurance
  • 1.4.1 - dielectric
  • 11.2.1 - tertiary electrical surge protection
  • 11.5.1 - class B environmental limits

COMING SOON - THE TRICOLOR SEARCHLIGHT

The Lumination Tricolor is the ideal solution to minimize both equipment and maintenance costs—green, yellow and red—all in the same signal. Available in 8in (200mm) format.

Key features:

  • Three-lights-in-one system reduces the cost of signal housings
  • Unique beam pattern delivers uniform visibility

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL

"LED technology has been a great improvement in railway signalling. LEDs provide improved appearance and visibility compared to standard optical elements using filament bulbs. The optical focusing that aligns the signal is no longer required. The indication conveyed by the LED signals presently in service is clearly discernable in a variety of weather conditions." - Paul Lockard, Manager of Amtrak's C&S Repair Shop.
