Based in Berwick, Pennsylvania, US, G&B Specialties is the leading manufacturer of many railway wayside signal products such as electric switch machine layouts, helper rod layouts, circuit controllers, electric locks and manual switch stands. A Global Railway Industries company, it is a major supplier to all types of mass transit and mainline railways worldwide. Its extensive on-site facilities uniquely sets it apart from competitors, by allowing it the flexibility to take a product and develop it from conceptual design through to in-house manufacturing, thus controlling both quality and schedules. Electric switch machine layoutsG&B Specialties offers a wide range of rod layouts for use with electric switch machines such as the Model 5F / 5H, Model M-23, Model M-23 MK II and Model HW. Typical layouts include all the components necessary to attach the electric switch machine to a turnout panel. Such components include front rods, operating rods, lock-rod connecting rods, point-detector connecting rods, switch-adjusting brackets, switch-machine mounting plates, electrical junction boxes, couplings, tie straps and track bolts. Rotary helper rod layoutsG&B Specialties offers rotary helper rod layouts for use on longer turnouts where multiple push- pull positions are necessary. This innovative design utilizes a torsional-assist bar mounted on the side of the track to ensure the coordinated movement of the entire length of longer switch points. Manual switch standsG&B Specialties' Model 50 / 51 manual switch stands are available in low profile (Model 50 / 51A) and intermediate profile (Model 50 / 51B) versions. The stands can be furnished with either an ergonomic bow handle or a straight counterweighted lever. Fixed and adjustable manual switch standsRugged construction, ease of operation and a century of proven reliability make the Model 50 / 51 manual switch stands an excellent choice for use on mainlines, sidings, and yard tracks. Model 50 stands are fixed and Model 51 stands are adjustable. With the Model 50 stand, the switch point adjustment is made at the connecting rod. With the Model 51 stand, there is a convenient, selective adjustment feature. By the use of shims in the adjustment slot, either switchpoint may be adjusted independently of theother. Trailable switch standsG&B Specialties' Model 12RT and 12RTH are heavy-duty trailable switch stands that incorporate a bow handle throwing device and are sturdily built to stand up under the heavy abuse of continuous 'run-through' operations. The low 12RT stand is recommended for use with heavy rails weighing 60lb and over, for all yards, sidings and ladder tracks where frequent movements of trains require spring action, or for any switch location where there is a likelihood that the switch will be 'run-through'. High trailable switch stands The high 12RTH trailable switch stand is identical to the low stand but features a high mast and target for mainline use or in situations where increased visibility is required.
