Royal Forging - Rail Fastening Systems and Spikes

Royal specialises in manufacturing and designing fastening systems - from resilient rail fastening systems to traditional spikes. We manufacturer elastic fastenings, insulators, pads, anchors, spikes, fishplates, tie plates and other fastenings and are also capable of mobile flash butt welding and constructing ballast and ballastless tracks.

We are one of the very few companies that carry labs for the extensive testing of fastening systems and individual products made of steel, plastic and rubber. Our engineers and experts have more than 25 years' experience in running and maintaining railways.

ELASTIC FASTENINGS

PR type: with a flattened toe for a greater bearing area, these fastenings are available in diameters ranging from 18mm to 23mm, having nominal toe loads varying from 300kgf to 1,250kgf. The material used is spring steel of different grades. We manufacture and supply various series such as 400 and 600 amongst others.

E clip: offering greater toe loads than PR clips, E clips are specifically designed for high-speed heavy-traffic lines. These clips extend track life by providing a positive and lasting rail alignment under the most severe operating conditions. They are available in diameters ranging from 11mm to 20mm, having nominal toe loads varying from 350kgf to 1,400kgf. Spring steel of different grades is used to produce various series including 1600, 1800 and 2000.

Other fastenings: we also manufacture specially designed clips to suit our customers' various needs. These clips include Nabla type clips for fastening where fishplates are used, W clamps and other specially designed metallic fasteners. They are normally manufactured using spring and alloy steel.

INSULATORS, PADS AND DOWELS

Insulators: we manufacture insulators / liners, both metal bonded and without steel - just moulded to necessary plastic material. In addition we produce insulated rail joints (channel side plates, end posts, insulating plates and insulating bushes), coach bushes, acetyle co-polymer guide bushes and PBT terminal blocks.

Pads: we manufacture a wide range of pads made from natural and synthetic rubber and plastic material such as EVA, Nylon, HDPE, Hytrel, Arnitel and TPU. The pads are manufactured to meet the precise demands of operating environments from high-speed track to maintenance bays.

Dowels: these are plastic inserts pre-casted into concrete sleepers used extensively in turnings and crossings. They are grouted into concrete sleepers to take in screws used to fix rails to sleepers. Our dowels / ferrules are moulded specifically to suit the sleepers and screws.

SPIKES, BOLTS AND NUTS

Royal manufactures a wide range of spikes including screw spikes / coach screws, lock spikes, single and double shank spikes and track spikes. All are made to industry specifications to meet the needs of railways. Additionally, Royal has one of the highest capacities in India for the manufacturing of spikes, bolts, nuts and washers.

SLEEPERS, ANCHORS, FISHPLATES AND TIE PLATES

Royal produces steel sleepers to various profiles and sections. In addition to sleepers we also manufacture tie plates for steel, wooden and concrete sleepers. Fishplates and rail joints are also made to various designs. We are one of the few manufacturers who can cater to both small and large requirements for fishplates. Royal also manufactures rail anchors to various designs and specifications including T type anchors.

Due to our engineering capacity (CAD, laboratories) we can focus on the individual requirements of our customers' projects. Modifications of a tried and tested rail fastener, retrofitting of an existing system or upgrading a system are just a few of our capacities.

Royal offers specialised solutions, developed and perfected in partnership with our customers. The company's main laboratory and workshop in Raipur are well equipped and capable of undertaking all the dynamic and static mechanical tests, together with electrical and metallurgical tests. The characteristics of the materials can be adapted to meet specified requirements.
