Following a joint accreditation visit by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) in August 2003, Scott Wilson Railways were granted the maximum extensions of three and five years' respectively for their graduate training scheme.
The scheme was initially introduced in 1999 and first accreditation was achieved in the summer 2001. There are currently 21 mechanical and electrical engineering graduates registered on the scheme encompassing the following railway disciplines: Electrification, Electrical and Mechanical, Signalling and Telecommunications and Permanent Way.
Scott Wilson Railways already has an established graduate accredited training scheme with the Institution of Civil Engineers as well as many other training initiatives for Permanent Way, Signalling and Railway Operations.
