BORCAD

BORCAD - Passenger Seats and Couchettes

Founded in 1991, BORCAD primarily produces components for railway vehicles. Over the past ten years, BORCAD has established its name and tradition in the manufacture and supply of high-quality luxury seats for high-speed trains (specialising in first and second-class seats), seats for the regional passenger transport network, and berth walls.

Production of our luxury seats, regional train seats and berth walls is mainly aimed towards the European networks. Our principal customers include Siemens, Alstom, Stadler, Pars Nova, Škoda Transportation and ŽOS Vrútky.

TRAIN SEAT DESIGN

The company sees its key objectives as not only compliance with the wishes of its clients, but also design concepts that are favoured by the users of its products – namely, rail passengers.

To meet these demanding challenges, BORCAD, right from the drawing-board stage, works in close conjunction with designers and train operators to create products which are both ergonomically ideal and fulfil all necessary prerequisites on safety.

RAIL SLEEPING CAR SEATING AND COUCHETTES

Currently, BORCAD is the sole company in Europe manufacturing berth modules for couchette and sleeping cars. The company concept, based on a framework of solid and professional co-operation with its skilled designers, enables innovative solutions for sleeping car and couchette coach units.

NEW AND REFURBISHED RAIL CAR SEATS

BORCAD incorporates its expertise in meeting the present-day regular requirements of the railway networks in the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Iran, Switzerland and China. BORCAD aims to capitalise on this market niche – which, at present, is not systematically covered by any existing supplier – and further intends to win the status of an exclusive supplier of these systems in Europe.

Each year, the company launches between two and three new seat designs, not only for brand-new trains but also for refurbishing old models.

ABOUT BORCAD

BORCAD was founded in 1991 by Mr Ivan Boruta. Our original concept of specialising in the provision of design services for major companies underwent a gradual transformation, culminating in the production of prototypes and serial products designed and constructed on-site.

The present-day focus of the company, principally, is on the production of components for railway vehicles through its skilled and experienced 100-strong staff.
