Mitron Supplies Passenger Information and CCTV Systems to Stadler Bussnang AG for Helsinki FLIRT

Mitron Oy, a leading supplier of public transport information systems, announces today a supply agreement signed with Stadler Bussnang AG, a part of the Swiss Stadler Rail Group, regarding the supply of Ethernet based passenger information and CCTV systems for 32 new Helsinki suburban FLIRT trains (Fast Light Innovation Regional Train).

Mitron will supply front, side and inside displays based on LED technology as well as TFT information monitors for the trains. Mitron's system covers also automatic announcement, emergency phone and CCTV systems.

A data transfer solution for inside and outside train communication is also provided by Mitron. The supply will take place between 2008 and 2011 and the new FLIRTs will be taken into commercial operations in Helsinki suburban railway from 2009/2010 onward.
