OUTSTANDING DAMPING OF NOISE AND VIBRATION

The high elasticity of the material reduces vibrations and thus the wear of the rail system.

Therefore, SG technologies' products save costs during their long service life. The products reduce natural oscillation and vibration of the tracks, both in ballast and non-ballast applications.

That is guaranteed by the composition of the material and its thorough processing down to microcellular structure. Due to their closed-cell foamed structure, all SG technologies' rail pads and base plate pads are characterised by an outstanding high elasticity. The spring rate is subject to the slightest of changes in the operational temperature (-40ºC to 100ºC) range as well as under high dynamic loads.

NOISE AVOIDANCE FOR RAIL TRAFFIC

Noise protection is becoming more and more important for all rail traffic systems. Microcellular-EPDM-Elastomer pads make an important contribution to this fact. Wherever natural oscillation and vibration is reduced noise will be diminished as well, both within the means of transport and close to the tracks.

Another noise reduction factor can be added in the long term. Elastomer pads reduce the formation of corrugation on the rail contact surface. Thus, local and long-distance traffic go calmer and quieter over a longer time.

In short: SG technologies' base-plate pads, rail-pads and boots facilitate the noise protection requirements in most cases and simultaneously increase travel comfort.

THE WAY TO THE FUTURE: RUBBER-MOUNTED TRACK SYSTEM FOR BALLAST-LESS TRACKS

Especially in the rail traffic sector, not all opportunities regarding further development have yet been fully explored. New product developments and enhancements of existing products have top priority at SG technologies. A big step forward is our new system for ballast-less tracks. Because of its special design it is suitable for any range of application: rail networks for local as well as long-distance travel.

Our continuous rubber-mounted track system for ballast-less tracks is sliding-embedded. The tracks are mounted without using the single base but by the use of a continuous support of the EPDM-Elastomer-System below the track. As simple as it sounds, the advantages are highly visible: the suspension of the system is soft and thus a strong isolation of the low-frequency and vibration-sensitive range is achieved. The damping of noise and the airborne sound are absorbed considerably. Impressive arguments regarding the environment and development close to the track.
