They are used as energy dissipation devices installed in automated couplers and draw bars to provide crash protection from frontal and rear impacts caused by vehicle-to-vehicle collisions.

Pantograph dampers and matching springs

The pantograph system is one of the most important components for the energy supply of the train and the powering of the various functional systems.

Maintaining contact is thus 'the prime duty' - a task which again requires the interaction of different components as an integrated unit.

The pantograph damper and the matching springs are customized to control the pantograph in working position in contact to the catenary, as well as lowering the pantograph to the roof.
