Stone India - Brake Systems, Locomotive Brake Systems, Brake Valves, Air Valves, Release Valves

Stone India Limited is the largest manufacturer and supplier of high quality brake systems, train lighting alternators and pantographs for the railroad industry. The company manufactures high technology mechanical and electrical products for railway rolling stock applications with fully equipped, cutting-edge manufacturing facilities, systems and practices.

LOCOMOTIVE BRAKE SYSTEMS

Stone India Limited specializes in manufacturing critical WABCO design (now also known as WABTEC) brake valves for locomotive brake systems. These include panel brake systems, automatic brake valves, release valves, relay air valves, control air valves, emergency brake valves, safety valves, automatic drain valves, feed valves, reducing valves and duplex check valves. A new, lightweight, compact locomotive brake system feed valve C2N has also been developed and patented.

The product range also includes tread brake units type BF2S, centrifugal lube oil filters and twin tower heatless air dryers for locomotive brake systems.

DIESEL AND ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE BRAKE VALVES

C2N Feed Valve: maintains stable delivery pressure in the feed pipeline without any fluctuation.

Panel Brake System: mainly used for complete brake valve assemblies for saving space and reducing pneumatic fittings.

8in x 8in UAH Brake Cylinder: equipped with a piston and a push rod to provide excellent braking force.

A-9 Automatic Brake Valve: compact, self-lapping, pressure maintaining brake valve.

SA-9 Independent Brake Valve: releases locomotive air brakes independent of automatic brakes.

VA-1 Release Valve: available without chokes and mainly used as remote controlled cut out cocks installed in the vacuum brake pipeline.

H-5 Relay Air Valve: three-way, air operated valve which changes the direction of the air passage when the compressed air is exposed to the atmosphere.

HB-5 Relay Air Valve: pneumatic, double piloted, three-way valve.

HS-4 Control Air Valve: delivers a regulated, uniform and predetermined air pressure, usually for regulating the operation of another device in the brake system.

F-1 Selector Valve: switches locomotive brake equipment to the lead or trail position and operates brakes in trail locomotives when initiated from a lead locomotive.

A-1 Differential Pilot Air Valve: activates pneumatic devices for a predetermined length of time.

C2W Relay Air Valve: diaphragm cooperated, self lapping valve used as a remote controlled pneumatic device to relay a large quantity of main air reservoir pressure to the operating system.

MU-2B Valve: manually operated, two-position, multi-ported valve normally used for multiple unit service between locomotives equipped with similar braking systems.

VA-1B Control Valve: acts as a pilot valve to operate the train vacuum brake.

D-1 Emergency Brake Valve: manually operated brake valve used for initiating emergency brakes.

J-1 Safety Valve: exposes the pressure in the main reservoir at a predetermined setting to prevent excessive pressure build-up.

D-1 Automatic Drain Valve: designed to discharge precipitated moisture from the main reservoir.

D-24 B Feed Valve: relay valve which directs the flow of air under pressure to various devices within the air brake.

24-A Double Check Valve: permits a device to be controlled by either of two other devices.

AB Test Rack: the most reliable test rack; all WABCO brake valves are tested by using separate test plates and individual brake valves.

C3W Distributor Valve: graduated release, UIC-approved distributor valve for initiating the brake application.

DIESEL-ONLY LOCOMOTIVE BRAKE VALVES

Duplex Check Valve: prevents excessive use of auxiliary equipment from depleting the main compressed air supply.

Tread Brake Unit type BF2S: integrates the entire brake actuating mechanism comprising of brake cylinder, braking levers, slack adjusters and brake shoe holder.

ELECTRIC-ONLY LOCOMOTIVE BRAKE VALVES

D-1 Pilot Air Valve: spool type directional control valve normally used as an electro-pneumatic, remote control device.

N-1 Reducing Valve: reduces the pressure of compressed air to a constant predetermined value for delivery to auxiliary devices.

OTHER PRODUCTS

In addition to the above locomotive brake system products, Stone India Limited also manufactures beam mounted brake systems, UIC-complaint brake cylinders, slack adjusters, graduated release air brake systems for carriage and wagons and end-of-train telemetry systems. Pantographs for all electric locomotives and metro coaches are also available as well as train lighting alternators for passenger coaches.
