Utrecht, 19 December 2006 - Strukton Railinfra has been awarded the contract for the engineering and realisation of the BBV IJsselstreek contract. This contract includes an extensive, multi-disciplinary track renewal project on various route sections in the east of the Netherlands. Part of the project is improvement of the drainage.
The project involves the renewal of eleven level crossings, the reconstruction of six level crossings, the renewal of a double cross-over, the renewal of 4,082m of ballast bed incl. substructure, the renewal of 1,087m of track, the renewal of 10,720m of track incl. substructure, the renewal of 8,502m of fasteners, the cleaning up of one set of points and the cleaning up of 344m of track.
The track will be taken out of service for 380 hours for part of the renewal activities. The project must be completed by 1 December 2007.
The price was not the only factor based on which ProRail selected Strukton to do the project. ProRail also took into account the number of hours during which the track must be taken out of service related to the nuisance for travellers, and the project approach.
