Strukton Railinfra Strengthens its Position in Scandinavia

10 May 2006

Utrecht, 10 May 2006 - Strukton Railinfra has strengthened its position in Scandinavia by taking a 65% stake in the Norwegian company, Jernebaneservice AS, with an option on the remaining 35%. Jernebaneservice AS is one of the four rail construction and maintenance companies in Norway. The participation fits within Strukton Railinfra's strategy of expansion in the Scandinavian countries. Strukton Railinfra sees increasing opportunities on the Norwegian market in the coming years through the ongoing privatisation of maintenance activities for Jernebaneverket, which is owned by the Norwegian railways.

Jernebaneservice AS is based in Oslo and currently has an annual turnover of €8 million. The company has a solid reputation on the Norwegian market, above-average yields and approximately 40 skilled personnel.

Strukton Railinfra is aiming to obtain a major market position in Scandinavia as a full-service provider in the field of rail and rail-bound systems. In 2003 Strukton Railinfra acquired a majority holding in the Swedish company Svensk Banproduktion, which is now the second largest market party in Sweden. Cooperation with Sweden is to be intensified and the capacity in Norway will be increased in the coming months.

Strukton Railinfra is one of the leading major rail infrastructure specialists in the Netherlands and Europe. Strukton Railinfra operates from three regional sites in the Netherlands and also conducts business in Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland and other countries.

Strukton Railinfra is part of the Utrecht-based Strukton Group.
