Rexquote Roadrailed CAT 963 is an Industry First

Somerset-based special applications company Rexquote, the UK leaders in Roadrailed construction equipment have created another industry first.
7.4m long x 2.6m wide and weighing 22,460kg, the CAT 963 has been a colossal project. At the hand over this week to customer Gart Renewals, Rexquote welcomed Gart’s operators who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the mammoth machine!
"We are well known for our innovative firsts in the road rail business and this machine is truly impressive", said Dawn Hooper, MD.
The Caterpillar 963 is designed to operate in a railway environment for the towing of equipment off rail. It’s a standard Caterpillar 963 with the addition of a hydraulically operated rail bogie mounted at the rear and a rail trolley, which fits under the bucket to enable the machine to travel along railway tracks. All standard Caterpillar equipment is retained and operates in the normal manner.
Gart Renewals boast they already secured the first hires for the machine before it had even left the Rexquote factory!
