Amazing things to do with Access Equipment on Rail
04 March 2003 16:07
Not content with being the UK leaders in the manufacture of Roadrailed excavators, Rexquote of Bishops Lydeard, Somerset have produced a highly competitive range of access equipment to be used on the rail too.
The TD18 Tramm Railer is the largest in the range, weighing from 20 – to 28 tonnes, it is available with Palfinger cranes and access equipment and is completely unrivalled in terms of usability and size.
The AccessRailer combines the superstructure of the popular Niftylift Heightrider access platform with a Roadrailed Thwaites dumper chassis. The machine is uniquely designed to operate in the railway environment and is used to provide access to elevated structures for the purposes of repair, maintenance and construction. All control functions are available from the basket giving maximum manoeuvrability. It has a working height of 14 metres with an outreach of 8 metres. Travel of the machine and platform positioning are possible from the controls in the basket. This enables the operator to have full control of the machine from the platform.
The Mecalac Access is the newest addition to the Rexquote range. Based on a Mecalac 14MBX 360º excavator, these machines are unrivalled in terms of manoeuvrability as they have no tailswing so are 100% operational in narrow configuration. Rexquote have added an Access platform where a bucket used to enable this flexible machine to position workers to anywhere they are required. Again all control functions are available from the basket giving maximum manoeuvrability and access.
