Laser Rail

Lakeland Challenge 2006

31 October 2005 14:46

A team of Laser Rail's fittest, finest and most dedicated employees are currently in training to take part in the Lakeland Challenge 2006.

This gruelling race involves our team canoeing the length of Lake Windermere in Cumbria which, at a length of 10.5 miles, is England's longest lake. After this, the team will cycle 26 miles up and down Cumbria's stunning mountain scenery to finish at Wasdale Head, the steepest hill in the country. The final part of the challenge will see the team fell running up and down Scarfell Pike, which at nearly 1000m, is England's highest mountain.

Why are they doing this? Well it's all in a good cause. We aim to raise at least £4,500 for the Wooden Spoon Society, rugby's charity for disadvantaged children and young people. The team are also under the impression that they're going to have a fun day out in Cumbria!

We hope you agree with us that this is a worthwhile and valuable cause. If you would like to sponsor the team for the event, please contact Elaine Edmondson at elaineedmondson@laser-rail.co.uk or by telephone at +44 1629 760750. We very much appreciate any support you can give us.
