LPG Group of Companies was selected to provide the material for the Ankara Metro fire project.
This project comprises two stages or sections, with the first section being protected between the years 1994-1996 using NAFSIII as the extinguishing agent.
The second section is currently being protected (the longest underground system in Turkey). This comprises 29 stations with each one having eight control rooms. The extinguishing agent chosen for the second section was LPG Inert IG-01, because of its low reload cost and its respect for the environment.
The LPG INERT systems follow the ISO 14520 standard and are certified by VdS.
A total of 15,000m³ of LPG Inert IG-01 at 200 bar shall be used, spread over 430 cylinders with an individual capacity of 140 l, and 200 directional valves. This project is scheduled to finish this year.
