Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd Supply Hong Kong

Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd have recently shipped 7 off 4000KW, 1500V DC traction transformer rectifier units for use by MTRC on the new Tseung Kwan O (TKO) Extension in Hong Kong.
The transformers are filled with synthetic cooling fluid and are supplied with power at 33000V.
The rectifiers are twelve pulse series bridge rated at 4000KW with an output voltage of 1500V DC.
The interconnecting six phase bus bars and enclosures were also supplied by T&R Ltd.
The contract included extensive product acceptance testing comprising "Factory Acceptance Tests" at T&R's facility in Guildford, England and "In Line" tests on a completely assembled transformer rectifier unit. The latter, which included both Power and EMC tests,were successfully performed at the KEMA test station in Arnhem, Netherlands.
The transformer rectifier units were shipped to Hong Kong exactly on schedule and are currently being installed on site in the traction substations.
