STATIC CONVERTER FOR METRO OR LIGHT RAIL VEHICLES

The ultra-lightweight MEE-NTSD static converter is designed for onboard applications on any metro, commuter or light rail vehicle. Its extremely low weight means that it increases the energy efficiency of the rolling stock while its compact design simplifies vehicle integration.

With parallel operation of any standard power stage, the MEE-NTSD easily allows use of new redundancy concepts (such as active redundancy) for complete trainsets, as well as decentralization of power stages. This system allows for integration of, for example, an inverter with variable frequency directly into the air conditioning unit, resulting in flexible and cost-effective solutions.

The compact and lightweight MEE-NTLD multi-voltage converter is the best choice for any railway vehicle used for cross-border traffic in Europe. Most European railways have approved the system. Its modular design and integrated diagnosis system, which offers troubleshooting advice, simplify maintenance.

A wide range of modules, such as inverters with fixed or variable frequency and battery chargers, allow the MEE-NTLD converter to find the best solution for each individual vehicle while using standard modules that are proven, reliable and cost-effective.

Accessories range from dead battery starters to different communication ports, providing support for most interfaces.

POWER CONVERSION ONBOARD RAILWAY VEHICLES

All MEE-NTSD or MEE-NTLD modules and power stages can be used as stand-alone converters complying with all onboard power conversion needs. Any unipolar or bipolar, isolating or non-isolating converter or inverter can be realised using proven, reliable and cost-effective modules. All modules feature only state-of-the-art Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology.

Typical applications include DC / DC or AC / DC converters used as stand-alone battery chargers, or DC / AC or AC / AC inverters, with fixed or variable frequency for compressors, used for High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) or air supply.
