Multipulse Electronics was established in 1984, and is the contract manufacturing, integration and test division of the Multipulse Group.

Multipulse has grown rapidly over the last twenty years, developing a reputation for delivering industry-compliant, client-focused, design-led products and services to the rail industry - both mainline and underground.

RAILWAY COMMUNICATIONS PRODUCTS

Our products are communications-based. We work with a wide variety of different communication mediums, including TETRA digital radio, GSM/GSMR and TPWS, to provide our clients with a completely outsourced contract manufacturing service.

Our contract manufacturing services for both rail infrastructure and rolling stock include the supply, design, manufacture and integration of equipment. We can also carry out FAT and SAT testing, and complete project management.

LONDON UNDERGROUND CONNECT PROJECT

Multipulse is currently supplying a range of products and services for the Connect project in London. This project involves designing, manufacturing, testing and supplying electromechanical assemblies, hardware, sub-assemblies and wiring harnesses for all rolling stock vehicles.

Multipulse also supplies the associated additional support services.

NETWORK RAIL TPWS PROJECT

Multipulse has been supporting Network Rail’s TPWS project since its start in 2001. We have been providing a range of products and services, including the manufacture and testing of various control panels, terminal boxes, OTMR units, train test units, electromechanical assemblies, cable assemblies and hardware kits for all rolling stock vehicles.

We are also supporting the project with repair, calibration and maintenance services.

LUAS – DUBLIN’S METRO TRAM SYSTEM

Multipulse supplied a range of indoor and outdoor-integrated BTS / base station cabinet systems and REBs for Dublin’s public transport tram system (Luas). These products were designed, manufactured, integrated and tested (including IP65 testing/compliance) and delivered to site for the SAT testing.

In most cases, due to their application, the outdoor-integrated BTS / base station cabinet systems and REBs were bespoke, allowing for ultimate on-site flexibility when integrating into the existing rail infrastructure.

DESIGN-LED CONTRACT MANUFACTURING AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

We have implemented lean manufacturing improvement programmes across our manufacturing sites to eliminate non-value-add activities, which inflate costs, inventory requirements and lead-times.

We have also embraced value-stream mapping, pull systems, cell-based manufacturing and Kaizen continuous improvement, all of which help us to reduce costs, increase flexibility and deliver high-quality products and services on behalf of our clients.
