Dynex Semiconductor has started to lay the foundations in more ways than one for the research and development of new IGBT products aimed at the traction and power grid markets. The new R&D centre is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2012 and is designed to accommodate Dynex Semiconductor's expanding R&D team and other support staff.

This R&D centre greatly enhances the Dynex capability and will accelerate the development of new products which will focus on reduced size per kW and long term reliability in rugged environments.

CSR Times Electric of Hunan province in China who own 75% of Dynex equity, has continued to support the UK operation, and the new 6in silicon production lines are fully operational in Lincoln, providing essential devices for the Chinese traction industry.
