Bevel Power Systems Ltd supply battery back-up power supplies, battery chargers, batteries and train shore supplies for trackside and rail depots.

Our main areas of supply include standby power supplies and batteries for electrification and power protection, signalling, depot 24VDC and 110VDC train supplies and battery testing, especially for train batteries.

RAILWAY STANDBY POWER SUPPLIES.

Standby power for railways include switch tripping back-up, road barriers, point switching, signal box supplies and many other applications. Our recognition of infrastructure problems allowed a one-for-one power supply upgrade on barrier, signalling and other applications by utilising the existing location points and cable runs. Upgrade or repair replacement can usually be done inside an hour.

The smaller systems can cover many DC voltages - 12V to 110V from 5A up to 20A.

The larger systems range from 50V / 100A to 220V / 150A outputs and a recent 350V / 100A DC. Many larger power supplies are tailored to meet customer design and application criteria.

RAILWAY APPLICATION BATTERIES.

Many batteries are used on trains and trackside. We fully understand nickel cadmium and lead acid batteries (including VRLA types). Bevel can supply and advise on the appropriate battery for all the differing rail applications. We also test train batteries.

DEPOT CHARGERS AND SHORE SUPPLIES.

We supply static 24VDC and 110VDC shore supplies, including weatherproofed systems for outside use. Mobile chargers, again 24VDC and 110VDC are used countrywide. Out puts are up to 200A for 24V and 50A for 110V systems. Occasionally we also produce bespoke depot power supplies to fit local depots, even high-level installations.

TRAIN BATTERY TESTING

Testing batteries on trains is difficult. Our charge / discharge unit not only tests the battery capacity, but it also conditions the battery. Recorded capacity records can then be compared to allow users to predict when a battery will need changing.

750V DEPOT SUPPLIES

Bevel has supplied 750V contactor and isolation cabinets, distribution cabinets and lineside 750V connection cabinets and train connection cables.
