GANGWAYS AND BELLOWS FOR RAILWAY VEHICLES

ULTIMATE manufactures gangways and bellows for all kinds of railway vehicles, ranging from light rail vehicles to high-speed trains. These gangway systems, suitable for all types of articulated and non-articulated vehicles, can be equipped with folding bellows, simple corrugated bellows, double corrugated bellows and interior panelling.

ULTIMATE offers considerable expertise in the manufacture of bellow materials according to actual fire resistance standards, such as BS 6853, NFF 16-101, DIN 5510 and NFPA 130.

ULTIMATE has developed special movement analysis software that can both evaluate and mimic all envisaged vehicle movements, assisting in early design stage. This software can also be used later on our specialist six-axle test bench to confirm all results of evaluations by endurance testing of full size gangways.

Fire, noise, water and environmental tests are carried out in several specialist test labs in Europe, Australia and Asia to give customers continued high confidence in all our products.

DOOR SYSTEMS AND MOVEABLE STEPS FOR RAILWAY VEHICLES

ULTIMATE offers a wide range of door systems, such as sliding plug doors, sliding doors, manual, hinged cab doors, interior doors, and moveable steps, suitable for all types of vehicles.

ULTIMATE offers considerable expertise in the manufacture of doorpanels in aluminium pictureframe, aluminium sandwich and stainless steel construction.

ULTIMATE doors meet the most applicable and relevant standards, such as EN 14752, UIC 560 / 566 and EN 50155 / 50121-3-2 / 50128.

ULTIMATE uses 3D-CAD system during the design and development phase to define the interfaces to all customers. This system allows us to produce a door movement simulation and a stress investigation in the early stages to avoid collisions with other components in the door area. The results of this theoretical interpretation of the door system get checked and confirmed on a regular basis by endurance tests on a full size mockup.

The innovative design and function of our door control unit in combination with our door gears offers best results in obstruction detection.

INTERIOR SOLUTIONS FOR RAILWAY VEHICLES

ULTIMATE offers a wide range of interiors, such as panelling, toilet modules, seats and front masks, suitable for all types of vehicles.

Panelling: ULTIMATE manufactures side wall panelling, car end panelling, cabinet covering, door post covering, side and middle ceiling, partition walls and partition doors made of GRP, SMC or Metall.

Toilet Modules: ULTIMATE offers complete GRP toilet modules with vacuum or chemical toilet systems. The toilet modules are available in disabled-conform, disabled-friendly and standard type with automatic sliding doors or manual Doors. Due to our knowhow on GRP-manufacturing, doors, controls and toilet systems, ULTIMATE takes full system responsibility for the complete toilet modules.

Seats: ULTIMATE offers comfort seats and tip-up seats for regional and intercity trains as well as simple GRP or stainless steel seats for metros and light rail vehicles.

Front Masks: ULTIMATE offers complete front masks made of GRP, already pre-assembled with additional equipment if required.

Based on this wide range of products, ULTIMATE can offer complete interior systems to their clients taking over the complete system responsibility including engineering.

ENGINEERING AND TESTING CAPABILITIES

To meet customers’ requirements, as well as national and international standards, ULTIMATE set up several testing capabilities. In-house testing on 1:1 full-size equipment is carried out, like endurance tests, movement tests and water tests.

ULTIMATE uses Computer Aided Design (CAD), stress calculation and movement investigation on 3D-CAD to define the systems designs. 3D working stations are used to get close interface to our client’s demands.

In collaboration with independent test institutes, ULTIMATE performs shock and vibration tests, noise, fire, climate and paint tests on full size products and materials. All those methods ensure a high quality level of all products.
