Pickersgill-Kaye Ltd’s ongoing export drive has been given a major boost, with the manufacturer of high-security and custodial products reporting encouraging sales enquiries from overseas after displaying its range of locks and hatches at the Home Office’s 2015 Security & Policing Exhibition in Farnborough.

The Leeds-based company, which designs and manufactures all its locks in the UK, is confident of securing several orders as a result of exhibiting at the security industries’ showcase event in March, which is by invite only and attracts defence and security experts from across the globe.

Enquiries for its mechanical and electro-mechanical custodial, high-security gate and multipoint locking products were received from many countries including from the Middle East, Far East and the Caribbean. There was also plenty of interest from government departments and defence experts closer to home, says Pickersgill-Kaye.

In fact, Pickersgill-Kaye’s products attracted so much interest at the three-day event that at times queues of people formed around its stand waiting for demonstration, according to company product manager for High Security Locking, Mark Tailby.
He said: "Pickersgill-Kaye is proud to continue its ongoing support for this event. This year we displayed a comprehensive range of new and existing locking solutions and cell door hatches from our portfolio. Our stand attracted tremendous interest from both UK and overseas visitors. We are looking forward to following up these enquiries and participating again in next year’s exhibition."

Pickersgill-Kaye’s custodial and high security locks are already in use protecting critical national infrastructure asset sites and police custody centres across the UK and Ireland. They recently broke in to the lucrative Chinese market, securing a deal to supply cell door locks for the custodial suite of the first railway satellite police station on the route of the new Hong Kong-China Express Rail Link.

In addition to its renowned range of eight-lever Kaye Class 1 custodial cell locks, pass locks and high-security multipoint locking systems, there was also strong interest in the firm’s range of high-security slide bar, claw and pedestrian gate locks for perimeter security applications.

Pickersgill-Kaye is recognised as one of the UK’s leaders in design engineering and manufacture for custodial and high-security locking solutions and, through its growing product range, is able to offer a complete commercial package for new build and refurbishment projects across the UK and overseas.

All Pickersgill-Kaye products are designed on state-of-the-art CAD CAM software, and are manufactured entirely in the UK using high-tech materials and production techniques. Its locks undergo extensive and challenging testing on key operation, lock construction and overall durability and resistance to attack in order to satisfy the operational requirements of both national and international high security market sectors.
