01 February 2005 09:49

International control systems company Transmitton announces the acquisition of ADT Rail Systems Ltd, based in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

On 1 February 2005, Transmitton acquired 100% of the share capital of ADT Rail Systems Ltd, a leading supplier of condition monitoring technologies to the rail industry. David C. Shaw, Managing Director of ADT Rail Systems, will continue to operate the company autonomously, yet will benefit from future investment and support from Transmitton. ADT Rail Systems’ long-standing relationships with both Tascomp and Bender UK will remain in place.

ADT Rail Systems is one of the most innovative UK consultancies in condition and event monitoring and specialises in the specification, design and manufacture of these systems for the rail industry. Performance data about key assets such as power supplies, points operation, level crossings, track circuits and signalling is delivered to users through its ‘ON TRACK’ integrated suite of monitoring products.

Transmitton Managing Director Ian Wright commented: “This acquisition complements Transmitton’s existing portfolio of condition monitoring technologies and further strengthens our position as the leading supplier of integrated systems to the UK rail industry. David Shaw is very knowledgeable and well respected in our industry and will spearhead our commitment and investment into this growing sector.”

David Shaw commented: “This is an exciting and powerful prospect – ADT Rail Systems’ innovative condition monitoring technologies combined with Transmitton’s financial strength and leadership in rail systems.

ADT Rail Systems will continue to operate from its Fleetwood location.
