Transmitton opens mock station to show just how

07 June 2006 12:31

A new station opened on 7 June in the North Leicestershire town of Ashby should prove just the ticket for demonstrating the latest advances in rail technology.Leading rail industry supplier Transmitton has built a mock station control room, named Ashby Park Station, at its headquarters to demonstrate the company's commitment to the technological development of the rail industry and show the wide range of advanced system solutions it now offers.

Transportation will be a key strength of London's bid for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics and current investment in the UK's rail infrastructure is already underway. Transmitton's Managing Director, Ian Wright, comments, "This is a very exciting time for UK transportation, and Transmitton is at the forefront of the industry. The construction of Ashby Park Station is another step forward and further strengthens our position. Transmitton is a business with a passion for developing state-of-the-art technologies, bringing maximum benefit and a valuable return on investment for our customers."

The company's rail industry system solutions include Integrated Station Management (ISM), traction power SCADA, network management, intelligent asset management, integrated station environmental control solutions and real-time passenger information systems. Christoph Klose, Director of Marketing and Strategy at Siemens AG, commented, "Transmitton's innovative product portfolio greatly complements the existing Siemens rail communication business in the UK. Since we started our cooperation in 2005, we have clearly seen the strength of Transmitton's innovation. The modernised Ashby Park Station on site will allow visitors to see the company's commitment to innovation and investment in the very latest technologies literally brought to life". The system demonstrations on display are proven solutions, supplied and installed at King's Cross and St Pancras Station and Docklands Light Railway and East Coast Mainline stations, to name a few.

Ian Wright added, "It's been action stations here getting this demonstration facility up and running and we are confident it will be of real value for customers to see for themselves just how all our systems work and how they can be integrated with the rail network."
