Multi-Contact is active in the field of electrical plug connectors, contact devices, test and measuring accessories and special cables. Multi-Contact develops cylindrical contacts, flat contacts, spherical contacts or fork contacts based on MC-Multilam™ technology.

In the principal industrial countries, we have our own distribution organisations to advise and serve customers on the spot. In countries where we have no subsidiary of our own, we co-operate with selected distribution organisations.

Multilam™ advanced contact technology

With Multi-Contact cylindrical, flat, spherical and fork contacts, all kinds of solutions are possible. Every louver of the spring-loaded contact strip forms an independent current bridge, so that the many parallel louvers substantially reduce the overall contact resistance.

Rail connectors for high plugging cycles and extreme load conditions

Multilam™ is vibration and shock-proof. There is now a range of some 50 different forms of Multilam™, each of which is designed for a specific application. Multilam™ connectors with a very thin strip thickness of 0.8mm to 0.125mm are used where high plugging cycles are required. Connectors for few plugging cycles and permanent contacts for press-fitting are equipped with thicker Multilam™, e.g. 0.3mm to 0.5mm.

For extreme load conditions such as in switchgear designs, which are characterised by a large number of plugging or sliding operations and high short-time currents, it is recommended to have the connector fitted with guide rings.
