Federal-Mogul Systems Protection - Sleeving Systems for the Rail Industry

The railway industry presents challenges for the protection of wiring, wire harnesses, tubing, hoses and mechanical assembly. Federal-Mogul Systems Protection meets these challenges with innovative sleeving solutions that are sold under the Federal-Mogul and Bentley-Harris brand names.

Our offer covers an extensive array of sleeves made from braiding, weaving and knitting technologies to new applications of material, design and process. The following are the products best suited for this industry for which a datasheet and a test report is available upon request.

Flame-retardant sleeves for mechanical and wire protection

Expandable braided sleeve manufactured from modified polyester monofilaments, classified VO according to UL 94, offer excellent flame-retardant properties.

Sleeves are designed for mechanical protection and maintenance of wire and cable bundles, including:

  • Raw material classified VO
  • Zero halogen
  • NF 16101-16102: I2F2
  • DIN 5510: S4, SR2, ST2 DB approved
  • ASTM E-162 and E-662

Roundit 2000 FR features a wrap-around design and is manufactured from flame-retardant polyester monofilaments and textured polyester yarns. Roundit 2000 VO features UL 94 V0-rated polyester monofilaments. Booth sleeves are designed for mechanical protection and maintenance of wire and cable bundles.

Their self-wrapping feature allows for quick and easy installation and removal for assembly and maintenance. The sleeves include:

  • Zero halogen
  • Roundit 2000 FR – NF 16101-16102: I3F2
  • Roundit 2000 VO – NF 16101-16102: I2F1
  • DIN 5510: S4, SR2, ST2 DB approved
  • ASTM E-162 and E-662

Rubber-coated fibreglass sleeves for electrical insulation

The GES is a braided fibreglass sleeve with a silicone rubber coating designed to provide electrical insulation for 4kV or 10kV dielectric strength. Features of the GES include:

  • Easy installation due to high flexibility
  • Zero halogen
  • NF 16101-16102: I2F0

Fibreglass sleeves for cable protection

The Thermotubix is thickwall braided fibreglass sleeving coated with a specially compounded, flame-retardant silicone rubber. It offers effective protection against sustained high temperatures and flames that can seriously damage electrical cables and hydraulic, gas and lubricant supply lines. Features include:

  • Zero halogen
  • NF 16101-16102: I2F1
  • DIN 5510: S4, SR2, ST2 DB approved

Sleeves with electromagnetic shielding

Made of a stable woven construction mixing polymer with nickel-plated copper, Roundit V0 EMI offers electromagnetic shielding to wire harnesses, while showing huge benefits in terms of installation thanks to its open construction. Features include:

  • Zero halogen
  • NF 16101-16102: I2F2
  • DIN 5510: S4, SR2, ST2 DB approved
