Raneka Industries Ltd, set up in 1989 in India, manufactures and supplies cast steel components and sub assemblies for railway and other heavy industries. Products range from small 5kg castings to heavy castings weighing up to 3,000kg. The company is well known for its quality and workmanship.

Raneka Industries is an AAR-certified company for the manufacture of cast steel products. It is also categorised under the Class A foundry according to the IS-12117-96 specifications of Indian Railways and has been awarded with ISO 9001: 2000 certification. The company has been approved by Indian Railways for almost all critical and safety items, such as bogies, couplers, buffers and their spares. Raneka Industries manufactures the widest range of castings for Indian Railways.

The company is capable of manufacturing and supplying 12,000MT of castings annually in finished and machined condition. The company uses ARC and induction furnaces, mechanised and hand-operated moulding facilities, core shooters, sand knockout systems and various other facilities operated by well-equipped and trained personnel. With in-house machining facilities, it is a one-stop window for various casting requirements.

To ensure the final products are of the best quality in all respects, the company has the latest inspection / testing facilities such as spectrometers (for chemical analysis), image analysers for checking micro-structures, a fully-equipped Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) lab, various kinds of hardness testing machines, various kinds of load testing machines and, above all, a trained and dedicated work force.

RAIL BOGIES, PIVOTS AND BRAKE BEAMS

Raneka Industries manufactures a wide range of bogies and components that are extensively used by the Indian Railways. Featured in their range of products are high-speed bogies, NLB bogies and bogies designed for flat wagons. Raneka has recently developed complete side frame assembly and radial arm casting for use in track-friendly bogies. In addition, the company manufactures all kinds of central pivots and several different kinds of brake beams. Raneka regularly meets the requirements of United Group of Rail, Australia for brake beams and coupler spares.

CBC COUPLERS AND COMPONENTS

Raneka Industries is currently the Indian market's leading manufacturer of coupler spare parts. Couplers and various components are manufactured according to AAR standards and specifications. Some of the coupler components manufactured by the company include coupler bodies, yokes, knuckles, striker castings and locks. Raneka is one of the few companies in the world which manufactures all kinds of alliance couplers.

OTHER METAL CASTINGS FOR RAIL COACHES AND LOCOMOTIVES

The company makes a number of other castings that are widely used in heavy metal industries. Components include narrow gauge wheels, all types of buffers (and their related components for coaches and locomotives), draft gears and components and axel box housings.

FUTURE PLANS

Raneka has its focus set on global market. It has recently been awarded AAR-M1003 certification by North American RailRoad Association and has already developed castings such as yokes and draft gear housings for reputed North American buyers. Raneka is scouting for reputed OEM manufactures in the field of railroads, construction, mining and valves to supply quality cast steel components on the most competitive terms.
