Miner Enterprises, Inc. has been providing innovative wagon components to worldwide rail systems for over 50 years. Miner's products include TecsPak® buffer springs, TecsPak® drawgear springs, draft gears, constant contact side bearings, brake beams, discharge gates and unloading systems.

TECSPAK® BUFFER SPRINGS

Designed to comply with UIC specifications 526-1, 528 and 827-1, Miner buffer springs provide unprecedented shock absorption capabilities to both freight wagon and passenger coach applications. Unlike rubber / steel ring buffer springs, Miner TecsPak® springs require no maintenance or adjustments after installation. They resist exposure to dirt, chemicals and solvents and have proven to maintain their energy absorption capabilities over many years, even through temperature fluctuations.

TECSPAK® DRAWGEAR SPRINGS

Miner TecsPak® drawgear springs are designed to comply with UIC specifications 520 and 827-1 and are available in a variety of configurations and capacities, including smaller diameter models used when reduced clearances are present.

DRAFT GEARS FOR RAIL WAGON PROTECTION

TF-880:

CONSTANT CONTACT SIDE BEARINGS

Miner TecsPak® Constant Contact (TCC) side bearings provide:

• Metal-to-metal contact for exceptional hunting control
• Full contact to the side body-wear plate across the length of the top cap to eliminate tipping, break friction and dissipate energy before bogie hunting impacts upon wagon stability and component wear
• Anti-rotation lugs to improve rotational resistance and maximize energy absorption, resulting in higher hunting thresholds
• Patented TecsPak® springs to provide maximum vertical energy absorption for wagon body roll control
• Simple three-piece design for easier maintenance

RAILROAD BRAKE BEAMS

The Miner Series 2000 Brake Beam cuts maintenance costs by reducing uneven wear on brake shoes and extending their service life. The Series 2000 features a rugged design with an extra-sturdy compression member and castings, a unique, notched brake head providing more consistent braking, and innovative brake head key design to provide faster shoe assembly and improved key retention.

Compared to earlier brake beam designs, the Series 2000 provides substantially increased resistance to wagon and truck impacts. The Series 2000 is available in sizes ranging from 1.0m to 1.6m gauges.

DISCHARGE GATES AND UNLOADING SYSTEMS

Designed for operational reliability and built to meet all AAR S-233-92 specifications, Miner's AutoLOK™ II is always easy to open and close and stays locked. With tight tolerances and full perimeter seals, the AutoLOK II prevents leakage - making it perfect for dry bulk commodity materials. Miner also has a variety of specialty gates available to accommodate virtually any unloading need.

Miner can also engineer a custom unloading system to significantly broaden your options to increase existing car capacity, speed-up unloading, or meet special unloading requirements. Miner has engineered, manufactured and installed custom solutions that have modified wagons to handle a wide variety of commodities including coal, wood chips, iron ore, dry bulk chemicals and grain.
