Sealed Railway Dampers

29 October 2008

Continuing to provide extended durability and increased comfort, Dellner Dampers remains on the forefront of damping technology. Some of the industry advances employed by our products include:

  • 50/50 damping – provides equal extension and compression damping forces
  • Blow off valving – helps to prevent structural fatigue by protecting frame rail and brackets from transmitting excessive damping force
  • Progressive valving – provides extra damping forces, when necessary

Key design and construction features of our sealed railway dampers are:

  • Dustcover protects pistonrod
  • Multi-lip seal provides smooth performance and longer life
  • Hardened, chrome-plated, 22mm and 25mm diameter pistonrods with extra smooth finish for longer seal life
  • Pistonrod guide made from special powdered metal or cast iron ensures minimal wear and maximum life
  • Powdered metal piston allows for extremely tight tolerance, creating precision consistency and better damping performance
  • Specialized hydraulic rebound lockout option increases damping force at the extreme travel position of the shock
  • Heavy wall pressure tube eliminates deformation and provides excellent durability
  • Double-welded mounts increases tensile strength
  • Three valve assembly options provides maximum passenger comfort

Committed to innovation:

Our dampers are specifically engineered and manufactured to optimize performance, durability and value. Dellner Dampers offers a wide range of standard mounting features such as stem, loop, bar pin and spherical bushings.

Technical data – sealed railway damper:

  • Maximum force:10 kN
  • Maximum damping rate: 2kNs/m - 70kNs/m
  • Diameter – dustcover: 80 mm (max)
  • Diameter – reservoir: 70mm (max)
