WHEEL SETS, WHEELS AND WHEEL TYRES

Our standard programme encompasses wheel sets, wheels and wheel tyres from 360 to 1270 mm tread diameter. Apart from the customary UIC types, we also offer specially developed forms and materials for particular loads. A significant development with regard to material and resource-saving light construction is the patented stress balanced lightweight wheel.

RUBBER-CUSHIONED WHEELS

Particularly in local traffic, our rubber-cushioned wheels are a standard. The BO 54 type, the "Bochum single-ring wheel", is in 180000-fold use throughout the world; the successor version BO 84, sold over 20000 times, allows the wheel tyre to be replaced without dismantling the wheel set from the vehicle. The main advantages of rubber-cushioned wheels are the absorption of structure-borne sound, the shock absorbing properties and reduced wear.

COMPONENTS FOR LOW-FLOOR VEHICLES

The limited mounting space in modern low-floor urban railway vehicles makes special solutions necessary for the wheel guidance. Our idler axles, developed specifically for particular customers, set standards in this field.

WHEEL SOUND ABSORBERS

As an innovative solution to combat noise in local and main line traffic, we offer different types of noise absorbers which are specifically conceived to reduce rolling noise or curve screech.

SPECIAL DEVELOPMENTS

As a system supplier, we offer all of our customers the complete initial development of all wheel set and wheel types from the selection of the materials through dimensioning, calculation and design up to manufacture and delivery.
