RD Taylor is a major stocking distributor of an extensive range of market-leading and rail-approved adhesives, sealants, lubricants, coatings, tapes, abrasives and associated materials extensively used throughout the rail industry. Supplying not only to the MRO sector, but also to new-build areas, we provide a wide range of specified, approved and quality assured materials along with the necessary technical support.

Adhesives, surface preparation chemicals and cleaners

Our rail adhesives include those made from acrylics, anaerobics, cyanoacrylates, epoxies, methacrylates, polysulphides, polyurethanes and UV curing. Associated primers and curing agents are also available, from the smallest pack size to larger 'bulk' systems.

Also included is a range of surface preparation chemicals to improve adhesive performance as well as environmentally friendly cleaners for applications such as graffiti removal.

Applications covered by our products range from rail bonding to interior-carpet bonding, and from window sealing to structural-panel assemblies. Fire resistant and flame, smoke and toxicity (FST) products are fully supported. We also support MRO facilities where repair and overhaul are undertaken.

Sealants and silicones

Used for a wide variety of applications, our ranges of RTV sealants and two-part silicones from ACC Silicones, Dow Corning, Bostik and Momentive (GE), and polysulphide sealants from other leading sources, are amongst a range of products we supply.

Silicone and acrylic conformal coatings for electronic equipment

A range of silicone and acrylic conformal coatings for electronic equipment protection, as well as resin encapsulation products for more rugged applications in both electronic and mechanical applications, is readily available. These are manufactured by Electrolube, Devcon and Huntsman Araldite.

Lubricants for wheel-sets and door-locks

We have a range of rail approved lubricants, manufactured by Shell, Molykote, Fuchs, Castrol, Rocol and Kluber, for applications from wheel-sets to door-locks. Packaging sizes range from small tubes / cartridges to bulk barrels and drums.

Coatings for rail vehicles and sub-assemblies

Corrosion protection during both operation and MRO of a range of rail vehicles and sub-assemblies is offered. Both interior and exterior paints – using the latest environmentally friendly products (low VOC and water based) – from a variety of manufacturers are offered.

Surface protection and adhesive tapes

From surface protection tapes to single and double-sided adhesive tapes, and VHB to transfer, our ranges from Maskoff, 3M, SCAPA and other market-leading manufacturers have applications in all areas of the rail industry. Bonding and protection of various substrates - including composites, metals, polycarbonates, glass, carpet fabrics, etc. - can be achieved with our adhesive tape technologies.

Abrasive discs, rolls, sheets, pads, flexi files and tools

We can supply, in our 3M abrasive and micro-surface (micromesh) ranges, abrasive discs, rolls, sheets, pads, flexi files and tools incorporating the very latest technologies and materials for applications including grinding, de-burring, paint removal and scratch damage removal.

Associated tooling, hand-held sanders, grinders and fixed machines are offered as part of our overall support package.
